16 Students Earn State Honor For Mastery Over Two Languages
The students earned the State of Illinois Seal of Biliteracy for demonstrating a high level of proficiency in English and another language.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield School District 202 announced in a release Tuesday that sixteen students across its high schools earned the State of Illinois Seal of Biliteracy for demonstrating a high level of proficiency in English and in reading, writing, listening and speaking in another language.
Local school districts give the State Seal of Biliteracy to encourage students to pursue biliteracy and honor students’ mastery of two or more languages, the release stated. To earn this distinction, students must pass a foreign language Advanced Placement exam with a score of 3 or higher.
