89 Citations Result From Plainfield Memorial Day Enforcement
Plainfield officers took to the streets to enforce traffic safety laws for a more than a week leading up to and on Memorial Day.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield Police Department's Memorial Day enforcement campaign yielded a total of 89 citations, officials said.
The "Click It or Ticket" effort, paid for by highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, began May 17 and lasted through May 27.
Plainfield police issued the following tickets:

- 74 for occupant restraint violations
- 9 for speeding
- 3 for illegal phone usage
- 3 for other violations
Officers also made six arrests pertaining to suspended or revoked licenses.
"Through the Memorial Day enforcement campaign, we helped make Illinois roads safer and spread the word that seat belts and child safety restraints save lives."
