Man Barricades Himself In Plainfield Township Home: Sheriff
A woman was hospitalized with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries after an incident Friday morning, sheriff's deputies said.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A man was taken into custody after he barricaded himself inside a Plainfield Township home Friday morning, prompting a multi-agency response.
A woman called 911 at 9:41 a.m. to report she was in a residence in the 25000 block of Dina Court and "had run outside after an incident had taken place," the Will County Sheriff's Office said in an alert at 10:40 a.m.
Sheriff's deputies, Plainfield and Joliet police departments and a SWAT team were on the scene of the incident. A perimeter was set up in the surrounding area and residents were advised through a reserve 911 call. Police went door to door to alert neighbors to shelter in place, which covered a quarter-mile area around the residence.

As of 11:35 a.m., the barricaded man was in the sheriff's custody and the shelter in place was called off.
"The Sheriff's SWAT team has cleared the inside of the house and the surrounding area of any potential danger to the public," the sheriff's office said in the update.

The woman who called 911 was taken to an area hospital for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
"She is conscious and speaking with detectives," the sheriff's office said.
Drauden Road was closed between Renwick Road and Caton Farm Road, according to Plainfield police. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the scene cleared.
