Child Pornography Images Found On Plainfield Man's Phone: PD

The 35-year-old man was charged with four counts of possession of child pornography following a four-month-long investigation.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield man was taken into custody on Feb. 14 after images of child pornography were found downloaded onto his cell phone, police said Wednesday.

Brandon A. Barrera, 35, was arrested and charged with four counts of possession of child pornography after a "lengthy and thorough" four-month-long investigation.

On Valentine's Day, Plainfield police and agents from the FBI Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory executed a search warrant at the man's residence in the 16500 block of South Spangler Road and discovered child pornography images on the phone registered to Barrera, Commander Anthony Novak wrote in a news release.

Detectives also seized other items "capable of containing child pornography" for analysis.

Barrera was placed under arrest and taken to the Plainfield Police Department before he was transported to the Will County jail, where he remains held as of Tuesday.

The man's next court date for the child pornography charges is set for Feb. 28.
