Plainfield East grad awarded full-ride scholarship
Madison Cyranek goes to Plainfield East High and is graduating May 18.

She applied to become a Morrill Scholar at the Ohio State University and was awarded a full out-of-state tuition ride for four years based on merit and her community service and social justice involvement.
She is a gold-award Girl Scout and founded/was president of Club Women’s Empowerment at East High School.

Student from Plainfield makes dean’s list at Seattle University
Ella Ohlson, of Plainfield, made the president’s list at Seattle University for the 2023-24 winter quarter. A sophomore, she is majoring in International studies and public affairs.

Plainfield native wins prestigious undergraduate STEM scholarship
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is proud to announce that Plainfield native Amelya Fox has been awarded a Goldwater Scholarship. Established in 1986 to honor the lifetime work of Sen. Barry M. Goldwater, the Goldwater Scholarship is regarded as the most prestigious undergraduate STEM scholarship in the United States.
Fox is a junior studying biomedical engineering. The Goldwater Scholarship will support Fox’s research, which focuses on combining different biomedical imaging techniques to study heart attacks, and her application to graduate school.

Plainfield student earns spot on Coastal Carolina University dean’s list
More than 3,000 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2023 semester, including Allyson Wojciechowski, from Plainfield, IL (60544). Students who make the Dean's List have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (3.25 for freshmen) for the semester.

Local residents named to RIT Dean's List
The following students were named to the Dean's List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the fall semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete," "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.
