D202 Switches To E-Learning Day Due To Forecast Snow Storm

The online learning day won't need to be made up at the end of the school year.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 204 implemented an e-learning day Wednesday due to heavy snow in the forecast.

The storm, expected Wednesday, could bring 6 inches or more of snow, according to the National Weather Service. Snowfall rates of an inch per hour are possible in the afternoon and evening Wednesday.

Students didn't have to report to school Wednesday morning, and the day wouldn't need to be made up at the end of the year.

YMCA Kid Zone was also canceled. In an alert sent to the community at 10 p.m., officials said district and school administrators will decide later on Wednesday if after-school activities and sports will occur.
