Detached Garage 'Complete Loss' After Joliet Area Blaze: Plainfield FD
Although flames were infringing on the unincorporated Joliet residence, the fire was contained to the detached garage, officials said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The detached garage of a house in unincorporated Joliet caught fire Sunday night in an incident Plainfield firefighters determined to be "accidental," officials said.
The Plainfield Fire Protection District responded at about 7:37 p.m. to the residence in the 2400 block of Eastline Drive and found fire contained in the garage. Flames were encroaching on the house, but firefighters deployed several hose lines and extinguished the blaze, according to a Monday news release from Fire Chief Vito Bonomo.
The family, who was at home at the time, was uninjured, the chief said.

The garage was deemed "a complete loss." Officials did not say how the fire erupted.
Plainfield firefighters were assisted on the scene by the Joliet Fire Department, Will County Sheriff's Office and the American Red Cross. Crews from the Aurora Township, Bolingbrook, Bristol Kendall, Lockport Township and Northwest Homer fire departments provided station coverage during the incident.
