Dist. 202 Schools Closed Until May 1 At Earliest
Per the Governor's order to extend the stay-at-home mandate through April, Dist. 202 officials said classes wouldn't resume until May.
PLAINFIELD, IL — An announcement sent to parents by Plainfield School District officials on Tuesday, March 31, indicated that classes would not resume in school until at least May 1. In the recorded message, the district's director for community relations, Tom Hernandez, said that the district is complying with Governor Pritzker's same day announcement that the stay-at-home order would be extended until April 30.
"A few minutes ago, Governor Pritzker extended his order to close all schools through April 30. That means we will return to school on Friday, May 1, at the very earliest," Hernandez said around 3:05 p.m.
Hernandez went on to say that the district would keep parents informed about any changes or further extensions made to that return date. He also said the district would be releasing more information later in the week regarding at-home learning for district students.
