District 202 OKs New Assistant Principal, Special Ed Admin
Stacia Mallory will serve as the new River View assistant principal and Andrew Derwin takes a new role at three elementary schools.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Two veteran educators will have new roles with District 202 this coming school year.
Former River View Elementary School second-grade teacher Stacia Mallory will serve as the school’s assistant principal. She replaces Kyle Harej, who moved to the assistant principal’s post at Creekside Elementary School, also in District 202.
Mallory started her education career in 2003 teaching first grade in Valley View District 365U in Romeoville. She also taught at the elementary level for half a school year in 2005 in Norco, Virginia before coming to District 202 in her current role in 2005.

Andrew Derwin will serve as an elementary-level special education administrator working specifically with Lakewood Falls, Eichelberger and Liberty elementary schools.
Derwin has worked in several public and private schools. He started his career in 2003 as a self-contained high school behavioral and learning-disabled teacher in Aurora, Illinois, then came to District 202 at Timber Ridge Middle School in 2004 to teach art and technology.

He served as assistant principal for a private therapeutic school in Bourbonnais, Illinois from 2010-14, then as its principal from 2014-2017. Derwin has worked as a special education coordinator since 2017 for Oswego District 308.
