PLAINFIELD, IL — Anthony Arbogast will serve as the new assistant superintendent for business and operations, the Plainfield School District 202 said in a release.

Arbogast comes from Roselle District 12 in Roselle, where he was assistant superintendent for finance and operations and chief school business officer since 2016. He is replacing Rick Engstrom, who accepted a position in another district after six years with District 202.

The District 202 Board of Education approved hiring Arbogast at its May 26 meeting.

"Tony comes to us with very positive references and experience in both the private sector as well as in public education," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lane Abrell. "He’s actively involved in the professional school business officials association and will make a large contribution towards maximizing the fiscal resources available for our students and all of District 202."

Arbogast started his career in 2008 as a financial advisor with Park Avenue Securities in Highland Park. From 2010-15, he served as director of the K-12 Teachers Alliance in Frankfort.

He grew up in the Plainfield area and attended St. Mary Immaculate in 1990 when the tornado knocked the school down.

"Working in District 202 will be an incredible honor," he said. "It has done such a tremendous job of finding the balance between offering as many opportunities as possible while being fiscally responsible, and it is a legacy I look forward to continuing."
