Dozens of Citations Given During Plainfield Police Thanksgiving Crackdown

Police also made one driving under the influence arrest.

PLAINFIELD, IL – Well, we warned you they’d be out, but some of you didn’t listen.

The Plainfield Police Department has released the results of its Thanksgiving enforcement conducted between Nov. 14 and Nov. 28.

During the mobilization, Plainfield Police issued:

  • 34 seat belt citations
  • 1 DUI arrest
  • 1 suspended/revoked license citation
  • 7 uninsured motorist citations
  • 8 speeding citations
  • 9 cell phone citations
  • 4 other citations

The annual Thanksgiving Click It or Ticket mobilization may be over in Plainfield, but that is no excuse to stop using your seat belt; officers are out all year long. The next holiday campaign takes place in conjunction with the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, and runs from Dec. 16 to Jan 2.

The recent law enforcement mobilization was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the nationwide Click It or Ticket and Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaigns.
