Former Congressman Jerry Weller Stiffed Lender Out of $41,485.06: Lawsuit

The former congressman failed to pay back tens of thousands on a loan, the lawsuit said.

Former Congressman Jerry Weller stiffed a bank out of $41,485.06 left on a loan he took in 2013, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.

Weller, a Republican representative from 1995 to 2008, borrowed $44,011.78 from First Community Financial Bank in May 2013. The terms of the loan changed nine months later to put Weller on the hook for the $41,485.06 which he has yet to pay back, the suit said.

Weller did not respond to messages left for him Wednesday.
