Gas Leak Leads To Temporary 127th Street Closure: Plainfield PD

The Plainfield Fire Protection District and Nicor worked to fix the leak Monday afternoon.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A section of 127th Street was closed Monday afternoon due to a gas leak, according to Plainfield police.

In an alert at 12:36 p.m., officials said the Plainfield Fire Protection District said it was working with Nicor to fix the leak. As of 3:36 p.m., Nicor was still on the scene but 127th Street reopened to traffic.

"Thank you for your patience," officials said.
