Illinois Patch's Best Holiday Decorations: Whisper Glen Wins

PLAINFIELD, IL — The holidays are here, and things are shining a bit brighter. But Illinois Patch readers have spoken, and one decked out house outshone them all. Patch editors nominated their favorites, and hundreds of readers voted in Illinois Patch's Best Holiday Decorations poll.

With nearly 30 percent of the vote, the winner is clear. Jerry Bauer, whose display at 1612 Whisper Glen Drive, is the top pick, and will receive a $100 Amazon gift card just in time for Christmas.

The competition was fierce — from a Nightmare on Christmas-themed yard to displays synced up with classic holiday songs — and while it was a tough choice, but Bauer came out on top.

Runners-up were:

• 2524 S. 8th Ave., North Riverside - 23. 6 percent of the vote
• The Nightmare Before Christmas on Homestead, 836 Homestead Road, La Grange Park - 19.7 percent of the vote
• 14601 Poplar Court, Orland Park - 8.1 percent of the vote
