Inaugural 5K Color Run Happening Sunday At Murphy Junior High
Adults and kids alike can participate in the 5K or a kids' mile race.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Murphy Junior High will host it's first ever "Running of the Bulls" 5K color run and kids' mile on Sunday. The race — open to kids and adults alike — will serve as a fundraiser for the Plainfield school.
The event, which Murphy Junior hopes to make a yearly one, will kick off at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at the school at 26923 W Grande Park Blvd. The course will leave Murphy and follow the path across the bridge and around Grande Park. Color stations will be located throughout the race for those wishing to get doused in colorful (and washable) chalk.
The kids' mile will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 9 a.m. A warm up class will be held at 8:15 a.m. Registration for the longer race is $30, while the kids race costs $20 per participant. Registration can be done online here, and registration packets can be picked up between 3:30 -5:30 p.m. Friday at Murphy's Door 5 or before the race. Pre-registration ensures participants a color-run t-shirt to wear during the event.
