June 5 Is Plainfield's New Last Day Of School

High school graduation and middle school promotion ceremonies will still be held in May as planned.

PLAINFIELD, IL — We've seen our share of bad weather this school year, and while that has meant quite a few unexpected snow days, it unfortunately also means longer in school for Plainfield students and their families.

District 202 officials say five emergency days have been used so far this year because of bad weather. Lane Abrell, superintendent of schools, has declared June 5 the new last day of school. Officials say the district does not plan to make up the school days earlier in the year.

High school graduations will still be held on May 18 as planned and Middle School 8th grade promotion ceremonies will still be held May 23.
