Man Asleep At The Wheel Was Drinking And Driving, Carrying Cocaine: Plainfield PD
Officers struggled to wake the unconscious Shorewood man, 47, and subsequently called Plainfield paramedics for help, officials said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A man who was found asleep at the wheel, blocking a lane of traffic, was discovered to have been drinking and driving while also transporting cocaine, according to Plainfield police.
The May 9 incident involving Peter J. Guerrero, of Shorewood, was included in Wednesday's police blotter.
Officers were called around 5:45 p.m. to the intersection of Lockport Street and Miles Avenue for a welfare check after someone reported a car, determined to be a white Dodge Ram, with its hazard lights on stopped in a traffic lane. Police found the driver, identified as 47-year-old Guerrero, unresponsive but breathing, Commander Anthony Novak told Patch.

Police struggled to wake the man and subsequently called in the Plainfield Fire Protection District to evaluate Peter.
The man eventually regained consciousness and completed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. With the results and other supporting evidence, Novak said police had probable cause to believe Peter was driving under the influence of alcohol. During the booking process at the Plainfield Police Department, he submitted to a breathalyzer and was found over the legal blood alcohol content limit of 0.08.
