Meet Tasha Menard, Executive Director of the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce

Tasha Menard was able to take her business connections through her former position and transfer them over to her role at the Plainfield chamber.

Before she even applied for the executive director position at the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Tasha Menard was actively involved with the chamber. Menard worked for Rasmussen College in Romeoville, where she was in the community relations department. Much of what she does in the role with the chamber is similar.

"I created partnerships when I worked with Rasmussen College with the small businesses in the area," Menard said. "Those connections helped with the transition."

Menard was with Rasmussen College for four years, when the college changed how her position functioned.

"There were some changes going on with the company and it was more of a regional role," Menard said. "I wanted to stay focused on my local community."
She saw an ad for the available position on the Plainfield Patch site.

She began her role as executive director at Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce on April 15.

Her role at the chamber also gives her the opportunity to be an advocate for not only Plainfield businesses but also to reach out to neighboring chambers and advocate for those neighboring businesses as well.

Menard is working closely with the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce and the Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce and the three organizations are planning a multi-chamber event soon.
