Missing Plainfield Boy 'Returned Home Safely': Police
The boy was reported missing Feb. 5 after he had last been seen Jan. 28, according to Plainfield police.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield boy who was reported missing on Feb. 5 has been found safe, police said in an update Monday.
The 16-year-old boy "has been located and has returned home safely," officials said on Facebook at about 1 p.m.
The teen was reported missing after he had last been seen Jan. 28, according to Plainfield police. When police first alerted the public, they said the boy likely left home voluntarily.

On Feb. 6, detectives asked residents in the vicinity of Meadow Lane and 127th Street to check their cameras for any footage showing the teen's whereabouts.
Plainfield police thanked the Chicago Police Department in their update on Monday for their assistance in the case.
