Movies, Concerts Start Soon In Plainfield's Settlers' Park

PLAINFIELD, IL — Settlers’ Park concerts and movies are coming back for the summer. Residents can head to the park for summer fun beginning June 10 with the showing of "Encanto," and continuing June 16 with the '80s band The Jolly Ringwalds.

The Village of Plainfield and Plainfield Park District will be hosting the 2022 Settlers’ Park Movie Series, presented by Illinois American Water, at the Richard A. Rock Amphitheater:

• June 10 – "Encanto" - Sponsored by Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. (PG, Run Time: 99 minutes)
• June 24 – "Sing 2" (PG, Run Time: 112 minutes)
• July 22 – "Field of Dreams" (PG, Run Time: 107 minutes)

Movies begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. and are shown on a 20-foot inflatable screen. Before the movie begins, visit with the Plainfield Library, Police Department and Fire Protection District.

The 2022 Settlers’ Park Concert Series, presented by Illinois American Water, will feature the following bands:

• June 16 – The Jolly Ringwalds
• July 14 – Good Clean Fun
• Aug. 4 – Feel Good Party Band

The concerts begin at 7 p.m. at the Richard A. Rock Amphitheater in Settlers’ Park.

Settlers’ Park is located in Downtown Plainfield, near the intersection of Lockport Street and Van Dyke Road, just south of the Village Hall. Parking is available in the Village Hall Parking Lot, on Village Center Drive, and on Van Dyke Road.

Terraced seating is available, attendees are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray. Concessions, including popcorn and snacks, are available for sale and the proceeds benefit the movies and concerts in the park.
