New Verizon Cell Site to Improve Plainfield Service

There's also a new cell site on the south side of Naperville, which will improve connections as people pass through the two towns.

Can you hear me now? If you are in and using Verizon, the answer should be: loud and clear.

Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site that should give users in the village better access to the carrier, according to a release issued by Verizon Wireless.

In particular, voice and data access should improve from 135th Street in the north, to Naperville Road in the east, to Fraser Road in the south and to Steiner Road in the west.

A new cell site in will improve service in the area bordered by 83rd Street to the north, Plainfield Road to the east, Boughton Road to the south and 248th Avenue to the west.

“Our customers rely on their wireless devices for virtually all of their communication needs,” T.J. Fox, president, Illinois/Wisconsin Region, Verizon Wireless said in a news release.

“Ten years ago, ensuring they could make clear calls and stay connected was our top priority. That still is and always will be important. Additionally though, we closely monitor all other network usage, such as Internet browsing and downloading apps or music, and make improvements accordingly, so that our customers’ experience on our network is seamless regardless of how they want to use their phone.”

The new cell towers are also equipped with permanent backup generations in the case of an emergency, Verizon said.
