New Wesmere Elementary School Principal Announced
The educator most recently worked as an assistant principal at Maercker Intermediate School in Westmont, a role she held for six years.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A new principal has been chosen to helm Wesmere Elementary School in Plainfield.
The Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 Board of Education approved Ashley Lamorte for the role during its June 26 regular meeting. Lamorte most recently worked as an assistant principal at Maercker Intermediate School in Westmont, a role she held for six years.
She'll begin in the role on July 1.

Lamorte has experience working as an instructional coach and reading specialist in the Troy School District 30C. She began her career as a teacher in Flossmoor School District 161.
She was intrigued by District 202's strategic plan goals, according to a news release from the district.

"I feel my experience in a variety of roles will allow me to effectively collaborate with staff to move them forward," Lamorte said in a statement. "I am most looking forward to getting to know the students, staff and families that are part of Wesmere community and partnering with them to ensure all students have a successful school year."
