No One Injured In Plainfield House Fire

A fire broke out in a home in the 14200 block of Van Dyke Road Thursday afternoon.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A fire broke out at a Plainfield home Thursday, but no one was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

At 3:51 p.m. Thursday, the Plainfield Fire Protection District responded to calls of a house fire in the 14200 block of Van Dyke Road, the department said. Firefighters saw smoke coming from the back of the house and dispatched one line to the house before extinguishing the blaze.

The fire started on the exterior of the house with "some extension" in the home, the fire department said in a press release. Assisting the Plainfield department was the Romeoville Fire Department, and fire protection districts of Aurora Township, Minooka and Troy.

No injuries were recorded, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, authorities said.
