Terry grew up in the Joliet area, where some of her happiest memories were spent with her beloved horse, Banner, a treasured part of her childhood she recalled often. She began her career at the EJ&E Railroad and later worked at Marshall Fields & Company, the Will County Circuit Clerk’s Office, and eventually ended her career as a manager at The Park Tower Apartments. Terry took pride in every role she held, but she especially loved being “the boss”. Known for her intelligence, strong work ethic, and genuine kindness, she valued the relationships she built and the people she served throughout her professional life.
Creative, independent, and generous by nature, Terry found joy in the rituals of making a home. She loved decorating for every season, surrounding herself with warmth, color, and music that played softly in the background. Fashion was another source of joy for her, catalogues could always be found around her house, dog‑eared and well‑loved. She shared her talents freely, especially with her granddaughter, whom she taught to crochet, passing down a skill and a memory that will be cherished for years to come.

Above all, Terry loved her only daughter, Becky, and her three grandchildren with her whole heart. She instilled in them the values she lived by: work hard, make every penny count, and treat others with kindness and respect. Her love and lessons will continue to guide the family she adored.
Terry also lived with mental health conditions, a part of her life she faced with quiet courage. Her journey reflects an important truth that mental health is an essential part of overall health, and that compassion and understanding matter deeply. In her honor, the family wishes to highlight the work of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the nation’s largest grassroots organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by mental health conditions through education, advocacy, and free community programs.
Terry is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Green‑Bicknell; grandchildren, Morgan, Macy, and Max Bicknell; nieces, Georgeen Hardy and Alyssa Klika; nephews, Doug and Jeff Ritchey, and Eric, Michael, and Donn Kasten; sister‑in‑law, Alta Kasten; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William (Mary) Kasten and Robert Kasten; and nephew, David Kasten.
