Thomas Garrett

Thomas Garrett, 61, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 2, after a battle with terminal liver and lung cancer. He was born March 11, 1959, in Brawley, CA, to the late Rev. Gerald and Virginia (Lee) Garrett, and moved to Chicago in the 1970s.

Garrett is survived by his wife Nancy of 38 years. He is a father to Elizabeth (Bill) Laramie, of Carol Stream, Rebecca (Anthony Deskovich) of Somerset, Texas, a loving first Grampa to Sabrina Garrett-Deskovich, a dear brother to David (Kathy) Garrett of Colma, CA, Mark (Edith) of Olive Branch, Paul Garrett of Fontana, CA and Debbie (Tom) Sommerlot of Medford, OR.

He was employed by various body shops started painting cars and moving up to managing a few shops finally landing at Allstate helping people with their estimates. Always ready to help. He loved playing golf with his buddies, loved his family and all his animal friends. He loved his Lord.

His family and loved ones will miss him very much. He was cremated according to his wishes. A memorial service may be scheduled in the near future.
