Plainfield Central Student Earns Spot In National Choir
Georgia Sigler has singing since she was in sixth grade. Now, she'll sing on a national stage.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Georgia Sigler has grown up with music. Now, the Plainfield Central senior will get to show off her talents on the national stage.
Sigler is one of 240 members of the 2019 All-National Honor Ensembles, according to District 202. The choir and three instrumental ensembles will rehearse and perform in Orlando, Fla., from Nov. 7-10.
"It's going to be a lot of fun," Sigler said in a statement. "I'm really excited."

Sigler has been playing piano since she was 4-years-old. She began taking private voice lessons and playing trumpet in the sixth grade. Sigler's mom studied voice in college, and her grandmother and aunt where music teachers.
Sigler sings with the Plainfield Central concert choir, plays trumpet in the wind ensemble and is a drum major for the marching band, according to District 202. She auditioned for the choir and was selected to the all-state honors choir in January 2019.

When she gets to college, Sigler said she plans to study music.
“I really think (music) is what I can do with my life and being named to this choir proved to me that I’m making good progress to put myself in the right direction,” Sigler said.“It has given me the outlook that I want for my future.”
