Plainfield Citizens' Police and Fire Academy Applications Open

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield's free Citizens' Police and Fire Academy begins Thursday, April 4, at 7 p.m. The popular program teaches citizens about various law enforcement and fire protection topics including crime scene processing and emergency response with both lectures and hands-on instruction.
The 10-week program will be held every Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., through May, with a graduation ceremony scheduled for June 6. Classes are free and will be taught by personnel from the Plainfield Police, Fire and Ambulance Departments, according to a news release.
There are only 25 spots available, so register by March 15 to secure yours. Applications are available online. Drop applications off at the Plainfield Police Department during normal business hours.
