Plainfield Coronavirus Update: 28 Cases Confirmed; No Deaths
Police confirmed an additional 10 cases of coronavirus over the weekend
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department confirmed an additional 10 cases of new coronavirus in the village over the weekend, bringing the local total to 28 confirmed cases. There have so far been no confirmed coronavirus-related deaths in the village, and one confirmed recovery. Police said via Twitter that they rely on information from the Will and Kendall health departments in order to make their updates.
The Kendall County Health Department is currently reporting 52 confirmed cases among county residents, and Will County is reporting 648. These are part of the 11,260 cases so far confirmed in Illinois and the 337,971 confirmed in the U.S. A recent investigation from the New York Times suggests national cases may be under-reported.
All Plainfield residents are once again urged to stay at home whenever possible, to practice social distancing if they must leave the house, and to regularly wash hands and sanitize high-use surfaces.
