Plainfield Coronavirus Update: 35 Cases Confirmed; No Deaths
As of the latest count, Plainfield authorities had confirmed 35 coronavirus cases in the village.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department is continuing its daily count of new coronavirus cases in the village. As of the latest count on the evening of April 6, there were 35 confirmed coronavirus cases in Plainfield, no confirmed deaths and at least one coronavirus recovery. The police rely on records from the Will and Kendall County Health Departments to keep their counts, though the Kendall County Health Department has thus far declined to publicly release specific counts of individual towns.
The 35 cases in Plainfield are part of the 13,553 coronavirus cases that have thus far been confirmed in Illinois and the 399,929 that have been confirmed in the U.S. This is a larger number of cases than is being reported in any other country in the world.
With Easter just around the corner, Plainfield residents are reminded to stay home and avoid social gatherings, including meeting with friends and family who do not live in their households. Residents are also urged to regularly wash their hands and sanitize high-use surfaces, to practice social distancing outside the home, and to wear a face mask when in public spaces where social distancing is difficult, such as at the supermarket.
