Plainfield East Alum Donates $3K To District 202 Families
The University of Michigan student-athlete's donation helped more than 40 families at his alma mater schools in District 202.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield East High School alum, now a junior wide receiver at the University of Michigan, donated $3,000 in gift cards to Plainfield School District 202 families in need.
A 2022 graduate, Tyler Morris gave back "to his hometown in a big way" by donating a portion of his Name, Image, Likeness money as gift cards to the District 202 schools he attended: Liberty Elementary School, John F. Kennedy Middle School and Plainfield East High School.
"They are part of the community I grew up in and I feel like I'm in a position where I should help others when I have the opportunity," Morris said in a statement.

NIL deals are agreements between a student-athlete and a third party, such as a brand or company, where the athlete receives compensation when their name, image and likeness are used for marketing or to generate earnings.
He helped more than 40 families this holiday season through his giving, according to a news release. Parents can use the gift cards for food, necessities and presents.

"Plainfield East High School is overwhelmed by Tyler's generosity," Plainfield East High School Assistant Principal of Student Services Heather Boswell said in a statement. "Every Christmas season our PEHS staff donate gift cards to help support families that have fallen on difficult times. We are so grateful for his generosity and support this holiday season."
