PLAINFIELD, IL — As the popular adage goes, heroes don't always wear a cape. But when times are tough, they emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Lauryn is a brand-new graduate from nursing school in January 2020 and her first position is an ER Nurse at St. Josephs Hospital in Joliet. COVID-19 hit within her first two weeks. Welcome to nursing! She has never complained, is not afraid and is dedicated to saving the lives of others. The ER is her passion.
