How do you know the teacher?

She taught two of my kids.

What does this person teach?

English/writing

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

Ms. Edwards never gives up on her students. Teaching English and writing to seniors who may be reluctant learners can't be easy and yet she never gives up on them. She has high expectations of her students and teaches them critical writing skills. I saw both of my kids' writing change and improve because of her approach. She challenged them to do better each time — not pushing but offering feedback and encouragement to help them do their best. She helped them to be successful in high school and now into college. I think she has an excellent approach to her teaching, but her best quality is that she does not give up on her students!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

She helps build students' skills by meeting them where they are and challenging them to go further.
