Plainfield Issues Curfew Order To Keep Residents Safe
The curfew will begin at 10 p.m. and be in place through Tuesday 6 a.m.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Village of Plainfield announced on social media Monday that a curfew will be in place starting 10 p.m. through 6 a.m. Tuesday.
"This order is the result of the protests, damage to property, and attempted looting in the surrounding area last night," the Facebook post stated.
The post also stated that the decision was made in an effort to keep residents and local businesses safe. The village is encouraging all residents to shelter at home this evening and to inform the Plainfield Police Department if assistance is required.

Earlier today Plainfield Police Chief John Konopek had posted on Facebook saying that the department is aware of several social media posts indicating possible protests and "potential criminal activity in and around Plainfield."
"We are currently working to verify the credibility of these posts. Thank you to all our residents and others that have notified us about them," he said in the post. "We are also finalizing our plans for the remainder of today along with our mutual aid partners to provide the best possible safety measures for the Village of Plainfield."
