Plainfield Library Will Resume In-Person Services Monday

Guests will be required to wear a mask at all time and maintain social distancing while inside the library building.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Public Library District will resume all in-person services starting Monday, district officials announced. The library had closed its doors on Nov. 23 in accordance with Gov. J.B. Pritzker's Tier 3 coronavirus mitigations.

Curbside pickup and online services were still available.

New library hours from Monday will be Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday – Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Entry Guidelines:
In order to protect the staff and the public, the district is asking guests to adhere to the following requirements when visiting the building:

  • Wear a mask or face covering.
  • Maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet from others.
  • Wash your hands or use sanitizer often. Sanitizer will be available in the Library.
  • No food or drink allowed. Please note, the water fountains will be unavailable.

Use of Library Spaces:
Restrictions will be in place and the library will be offering grab-and-go services.

  • Interior book returns remain closed. Please return all materials to the outside returns.
  • Meeting and study rooms are unavailable for public use.
  • Limited computers will be available by reservation only. Call (815) 327-2515 to make a reservation.
  • Printing, copying and faxing services are available.
  • Notary and Voter Registration are available
