Plainfield Man Threatens Family With Gun In Arbor Creek Domestic Battery Incident: Cops
Plainfield police responded just after 5 a.m. Friday to Arbor Creek Drive for a report of domestic battery.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield man was taken into custody Friday morning after police say he threatened a family member with a firearm.
Plainfield police were dispatched at 5:04 a.m. to the 16900 block of South Arbor Creek Drive for a domestic battery assignment. While en route, officers learned a man, identified as Donald R. Dantzler, had battered a family member while holding and threatening them with a gun, Cmdr. Anthony Novak told Patch.
The victim was able to get out of the house, Novak said, but the 66-year-old Dantzler remained inside alone.

Police established a perimeter around the house, and after 90 minutes and several unsuccessful attempts to communicate with Dantzler, he came outside, and officers took him into custody without incident, officials said.
Dantzler was booked at the Will County jail on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon with no Firearm Owners Identification card and aggravated domestic battery — all felonies — and misdemeanor domestic battery.

Police posted an alert on Facebook just after 6 a.m. asking the community to avoid the area due to an "active police incident." By 7 a.m., it was "safely resolved," officials said in an update.
Dantzler's court date is set for 9 a.m. Saturday.
