Plainfield Native Melissa McCarthy Renovates Uncle's Home On HGTV

The Plainfield-born celebrity is set to premier a renovation of her relatives' Chicago home this coming Monday on the HGTV network.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield native Melissa McCarthy is set to appear on HGTV Sunday, April 26, chronicling home renovations she planned for her family. The renovations, made as part HGTV's series "Celebrity IOU," are intended for her aunt and uncle's Chicago home. Both are retired Chicago police officers and reportedly had a big impact on McCarthy as she was growing up.

"Celebrity IOU is a HGTV series where Hollywood A-listers express their deep gratitude to the individuals who have had a major impact on their lives by surprising them with big, heartwarming home renovations that bring everyone to tears," a description of the series on HGTV's website said.

According to the episode's profile on the same website, the planned improvements to McCarthy's relatives' home include an upstairs "retreat" for her aunt and a downstairs "man cave" for her uncle. The episode is named "Melissa McCarthy's Hero Home Makeover."

The episode is set to premiere on HGTV at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 26, and will re-air at 11 p.m. Monday, April 27.
