Plainfield Police, DEA Team Up For Drug Take Back Event
Residents can drop off unwanted prescription drugs at Plainfield Police headquarters Saturday.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Drug Enforecement Agency is teaming up with the Plainfield Police Department to host a drug take back event Saturday in Plainfield. The event seeks to get unwanted and potentially dangerous prescription and non-prescription drugs out of local household.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Plainfield Police Law Enforcement Center, 14300 S. Coil Plus Dr., local residents can drop their unwanted and unused pharmaceuticals. Controlled, non-controlled and over the counter substances can be dropped off for disposal. Illicit drugs like marijuana and heroin will not be accepted. Needles will also not be accepted.
Any solid dosage pharmaceutical products, like tablets and capsules, in containers may be accepted, the agencies said in a statement. Small bottles of liquid pharmaceuticals can also be dropped off, provided they are sealed and in an original container.

Hospitals pharmacies and physicians may not use the drug collection event, which is meant for families and local residents. Unwanted drugs will be destroyed by the law enforcement agencies.
