Plainfield Police Intensify Speed Enforcement In July
Drivers can expect to be ticketed if they're caught speeding during the three-week enforcement campaign, police said.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department is intensifying its enforcement of posted speed limits for the majority of July.
From July 8-31, the department and more than 200 Illinois law enforcement agencies are partnering for the statewide effort to reduce speeding, according to a news release. Drivers should also expect increased enforcement of other traffic violations.
Drivers caught speeding should expect a ticket, officials said.

"Over the past few years, we have seen an increase in careless and risky driving," Sgt. Dino Dabezic said in a statement. "No matter how safe a driver you think you are, speeding is dangerous. Speed limits aren’t a suggestion — they are the law."
The enforcement is part of the "Speeding Catches Up With You" campaign, paid for using federal safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
