Plainfield Police To Launch Labor Day Traffic Safety Campaign
The police department will be out in force this weekend to make sure the roads are safe over the Labor Day holiday weekend.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department will perform a traffic safety campaign seeking to keep local roads safe during the Labor Day weekend. Through the long weekend, officers will be out looking for drunk, unbuckled and distracted drivers.
The campaign is part of a larger law enforcement effort to make sure drunk drivers are kept off the roads during a time when many Americans travel for holiday events. Illinois State Police and other local agencies are partnering in the high-visibility effort.
"Our goal is to help ensure that our community's residents and visitors make it home safely after the party ends," the department said in a release.
