Plainfield Police Launch St. Patrick's Day Enforcement Campaign
Police will participate in a statewide effort to "keep roads safe during one of the most celebrated drinking holidays of the year."
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department is launching an enforcement campaign targeting impaired and dangerous driving ahead of St. Patrick's Day.
From March 7-18, police will participate in the statewide effort to "keep roads safe during one of the most celebrated drinking holidays of the year." St. Patrick's Day falls on Monday, March 17.
The Plainfield Police Department is joining the Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Police and local law enforcement agencies to conduct roadside safety checks, seat belt enforcement zones and saturation patrols.

The campaign also emphasizes the "Click It or Ticket" initiative to remind drivers to buckle up for every trip. Plus, speeding, distracted driving and all traffic laws will be strictly enforced.
"Be smart…even [leprechauns] wear their seatbelts!" police wrote in the release.
