Plainfield Police Release Results Of Independence Day Safety Campaign

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department revealed that officers issued a total of 45 tickets during the Fourth of July safety campaign.
The "Click It or Ticket" enforcement ran from June 20 to July 7, encompassing Independence Day. During this time, Plainfield police wrote 41 seat belt and four speeding citations and made one traffic arrest, according to a Tuesday news release.
The Plainfield Police Department joined forces with more than 200 other local law enforcement agencies for the high-visibility enforcement that included outreach activities and a media campaign.

The "Click It or Ticket" effort was paid for by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
