PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police are seeking the public’s help to identify a motorcyclist’s identity. In an April 26 Facebook post, police shared how they spotted a man who they say was involved in a reckless incident where he subsequently fled from the police.

Police said they observed the motorcyclist make several traffic violations in the area of Route 30 and 143rd Street. When an officer attempted to stop the subject, he fled into the Harvest Glen subdivision.

“Based on it being traffic-related violations, our officer didn’t continue to pursue because he wasn’t going to make a dangerous situation worse,” Plainfield police Sgt. Mike Fisher said. “He didn’t pursue the motorcycle, which then makes it difficult for us to identify him because we didn’t have him stop[ed] and have contact with him.”

Among the charges the subject faces is speeding.
