The "Click It or Ticket" campaign will begin Friday and continue through the early morning hours of July 8. The effort is funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Police said the consequences of driving unbuckled "are clear" and cited Illinois's 300 fatalities involving unrestrained passengers in 2022.
