Plainfield Public Library To Close Due To Weather

PLAINFIELD, IL — Officials say Plainfield Public Library will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, due to inclement weather, and will remain closed all day on Jan. 30. The library is expected to re-open at noon on Jan. 31.

The Great Read kick-off event, previously scheduled for Thursday, has also been canceled.

Weather officials are warning of life-threatening cold over the next several days. The National Weather Service says wind chills may fall to 55 degrees below zero tonight through Thursday morning. Such low temperatures can cause the rapid onset of frost bite and hypothermia.
