PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield South High School will host its third annual Marching Band Invitational Saturday, hosting 14 area marching bands competing to be named the best. The event begins at 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

At the event, the 14 high school marching bands will compete across three classes to be crowned the best local band. Schools are placed in classes based on the size of the band. Participating schools include: Bolingbrook High School, Minooka High School, Yorkville High School, Plainfield North, Plainfield Central and Plainfield South.

Each participating band will receive drone and press boox footage of their performance, and will play on Plainfield South's new turf field.

Admission is $8 for adults and $15 for two adults, $5 for students and senior citizens, $20 for a family of three and $25 for a family of four. Concessions will be for sale, and parking will be free.

Gates for the event will open at 2 p.m at Plainfield South, 7800 Caton Farm Rd. with the first performance set for 2:45 p.m. The last scheduled performance will kick off at 7:30 p.m.
