PLAINFIELD, IL — There will be no waste pick-up on Christmas day. If your trash / recycling day normally falls on Wednesday, this week everything will instead be collected on Thursday, Dec. 26. Residents with Thursday collection will have their garbage collected Friday, Dec. 27.

Romeoville and Plainfield both rely on waste disposal company Waste Management for their garbage and recycling services. The company's website states that, "if your service day falls on or follows [an] observed holiday, your service will be delayed by one day for that week only."

Trash service will be impacted the same way next week by New Year's Day, which falls on a Wednesday. For more information about the holiday waste collection schedule, visit Waste Management's Plainfield website. To find your normal waste collection day, visit the Plainfield waste collection day map.
