3 Plainfield Officers Hurt In A Crash During Pursuit Of Armed Man
Plainfield police had issued a shelter-in-place alert, but that was lifted and officers said the suspect is now in custody.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department was involved in a motor vehicle pursuit involving an armed man on Monday.
During the pursuit, the two cars crashed in the vicinity of Heritage Meadows Drive and Pasquinelli Drive, which resulted in three Plainfield officers sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, said Commander Anthony Novak. The man was also injured and all four of them were transported to local hospitals.
Guns were discovered during the search, Novak said. The man was taken into custody.

The Plainfield Police Department had issued an emergency alert at 2:28 p.m., asking residents in the Pasquinelli Drive and Heritage Meadows Drive areas to shelter in place.
The alert was lifted at 2:49 p.m., police said on Social Media.

Police said on Facebook that the suspect is in custody and "there is no longer a threat to the community." However, both northbound and southbound Heritage Meadows Drive were closed between Pasquinelli Drive and Pear Tree Circle as a result of the incident.
