St. Paddy's DUI, Seat Belt Ticket Tally From Plainfield PD
Plainfield police were out in force during St. Patrick's Day weekend.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department said it made three DUI arrests and issued 84 seat belt citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period last weekend.
"Because of the efforts by all involved agencies to spread the word about impaired driving and buckling up, the streets were safer during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday," police said in a press release. "The Plainfield Police Department strongly enforces traffic laws for one reason — to save lives."
The Plainfield Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign. The campaign was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
