Station One Smokehouse Re-Opens In Limited Capacity
While not operating with a full kitchen, Station One Smokehouse said they are able to take orders given 24 hours advance notice.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Station One Smokehouse contacted Patch on April 1 to announce that the restaurant has re-opened in a limited capacity. Staff previously said that the smokehouse had been forced to close as social distancing was impossible given their kitchen space. Now they are attempting to function with only one chef in the kitchen.
"[We have] one chef (Brad Hudetz, co-owner and head chef) because 6ft social distancing in our kitchen is impossible," restaurant staff told Patch via Facebook.
Given the restaurant's circumstances, no servers or bartenders were reported working. Additionally, staff are asking that patrons place their orders 24 hours in advance. The advance orders can be placed online at the restaurant's website, which also includes menu options. At the moment, only $50 family meals - enough to feed four people - are being offered. Orders can be picked up at the carry-out window on the north side of the building, located at 15025 South Des Plaines Street, Unit 1A.

Besides preparing meals for customers, Station One said the restaurant is continuing to donate meals to medical workers and first responders.
"So far [we] have donated to Edward Emergency, Plainfield Fire, and St. Joe's Medical. 133 meals total. Now working with Rush Copley," staff told Patch via Facebook.

Those wishing to donate a meal to emergency and health care workers can do so on the same Station One webpage from which orders can be placed. Donating a meal costs $15, and 10 percent of all proceeds go to the Red Cross.
