Trail Connecting Springbank To Downtown Will Be Finished By Fall
The trail will run from Electric Park through Mather Woods to Renwick Road. From there, it will connect to downtown Plainfield.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A portion of the trail that will connect Springbank of Plainfield to downtown Plainfield will be complete by this fall, and the Plainfield Park District has shared updates on the project to its Facebook page.
The trail, which is required per an agreement between the village and Springbank, will begin at Electric Park, said Bob Collins, Plainfield Park District project manager. It will run south through Mather Woods and down to Renwick Road. From there, it will connect to downtown Plainfield.
Though the village is still negotiating plans to put connections underneath the nearby railroad, the in-progress leg of the trail is set to be done within the next few months, Collins said.

Initial plans called for Van Dyke Road to connect to Renwick Road, and though those plans are no longer in place, Springbank is still required to put in the trail, Collins said.
"They wanted a trail connection even though there wasn’t a road connection," Collins said. "It's all about connecting trails and connecting parts of the village together."
